Sound + Installation

My sound and installation practice explores listening as a way of encountering memory, place, and the relationships held within an environment. Working with field recordings, music, voice, found sound, ambient composition, and sculptural assemblage, I create layered environments where sound and material operate together.

Sound is collected and constructed much like the objects within my sculptures. Recordings, musical fragments, conversations, environmental noise, and moments of silence are gathered, altered, repeated, and placed in relationship to one another. Through this process, sound becomes a form of assemblage—capable of carrying traces of people, places, and experiences across time and geography.

Within installations, sculptural objects, photographs, plant matter, found materials, and sound create spaces that invite sustained listening and contemplation. Rather than functioning as accompaniment, sound becomes an architectural and emotional material, shaping how a space is experienced.

Across these works, I am interested in how listening can make visible what is otherwise difficult to hold: memory, absence, intimacy, movement, and the residue that remains after an experience has passed.
